Updates to NVLB Threads this Year

With Survival coming up, I wanted to go over some changes that will probably affect how we operate this year, mainly in how we're going to keep making threads. Last year, we were able to have 5000 posts per thread, so we didn't have to change threads that often. However, this year, we're down to 1000 posts per thread so we're going to be going through a lot more thread changes than we have in the past. Additionally, I can't be around as often as I'm training for a new aspect of my job so I can't check my phone as often. It's not feasible for me to make every thread this year. I might not even be able to make the first one if Survival is announced in the afternoon.
In order to make sure everybody is on the same page and we're able to jump from thread to thread as smoothly as possible, we're going to leave the thread making up to , admins (check the members page) and experienced menu wranglers. Of course, if I'm online, I'll continue to make the threads and manage them as best as I can.
Additionally, if I'm at work and can't respond, is basically my deputy and will be in charge in my absence.
If there any questions or concerns, feel free to ask here before we get really busy.

When thread changes happen, we could always use help directing people to the new threads and making sure we aren't missing requests on an old thread. Having two 'active' threads is always a bit of a headache until we're completely settled into the new one.

I am going into the final weeks of school (only 3 weeks left!) But there are days I am completely free and would love to help in anyway I can. I helped wrangle the menu in the evenings some last year and am happy to do it again! ^^ Super excited for survival!

Thanks for letting us know! Totally understand, this'll be the first year in a long time that I've got a full-time job. This week's pretty busy, but I hope to find some time on the weekends at least to help out with biting.
thanks for the heads up! and good luck with your training! <3 i'm sure things will go smoothly, the admin and menu wrangler team is unbeatable :D personally im also not sure how much i'll be able to participate this year, especially from work since forums still refuse to load on my work computer :'( do we have an approximate date for when survival is supposed to start?
Annoying that the post limit is so low now, although if it helps reduce lag that's a plus. As frenetic as it gets I always enjoy menu wrangling :D Between you, spacemage, other admins and wranglers, I'm sure we'll be able to cover everything.
I'll be working, but from home and with dual monitors so I should be able to give a hand most days.
Oh man I forgot about that, so this is the first time we're doing survival with the decreased 1k limit... This is going to be extremely crazy ;_; That being said I do think this is best for your mental health especially to just let go worrying about being on top of things and let other admins make the threads instead. We all know you're the leader of NVLB :)
My main issue is that I keep getting locked out of viewing threads because new subeta forces me to log in literally 5+ times a day. ._. That is going to suck.
edit: case in point- I logged in to new subeta, opened this thread, wrote this post and posted, to find out I've been logged out of new subeta again and can't read what I wrote.

I'll assist as much as I can as normal (hasn't been as active on Subeta outside of Holidays but puts Survival a priority).
With so many strains however, I will likely keep only the "rare"/"uncommon" strain groups unmuted as the more common/popular strains usually get covered by the time I see the alert so I rather focus on the ones that have less biters ( like Heartburn, Fungus, Barnakles and Faceworm) and then skim for any that still need help with the more common strains I have when there's a lull.

Hopefully everything will go smoothly this year. I wish the exact date/time Survival will start would be announced beforehand. I'll try to help direct people to new threads in addition to biting if needed. :)

Good luck with your job training Avel! I'll hopefully be a bit more active compared to when I was at my old job. I'm hoping everything goes well this survival.
